Knowing our history is important to helping us positively impact our daily lives and our futures. I hope my Publishers Weekly starred reviewed picture book, THEY BUILT ME FOR FREEDOM, encourages youngsters to explore the fullness of American history and to investigate the rich narratives in their own backyards.
During an interview with the Texas Standard NPR network radio show I share the inspiration behind my book and insights into its message. Catch the full interview replay HERE. My interview is found at the halfway mark of the show.
